ABOUT ME

Hannah Ryan, a Boston-based theatre director, directed the New York Theatre Workshop’s 2014 Gala honoring Des McAnuff and Michael David. With Point Loma Actors she directed Twelfth Night & A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Moliere's The Forced Marriage, Only in New York, Greater Tuna, Polish Joke, and Food for Thought. With Point Loma Opera Theatre she directed Cendrillon and Gianni Schicchi. She recently assisted Des McAnuff on Broadway and HBO’s Billy Crystal 700 Sundays and Fetch Clay, Make Man at New York Theatre Workshop. Selected assistant director credits at La Jolla Playhouse include Sideways and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (A World Premier Musical) with director Des McAnuff, Chasing the Song, A Dram of Drummhicit (A World Premier) and A Midsummer Nights Dream with director Christopher Ashley, and Sleeping Beauty Wakes (A West Coast Premier) with director Rebecca Taichman. Assistant Director credits at The Old Globe include God of Carnage with director Richard Seer and Nobody Loves You (A World Premier Musical) with director Michelle Tattenbaum. Hannah Ryan is the 2014 Drama League Directors Project Musical Directing Fellow.
